something's gotta give was on tv this weekend and every time i see it, i can't help but daydream that i live in diane keaton's hampton's vacation house. i know it's a hollywood set but the rooms are beautiful but still feel homey...
Beth Rubino (set decorator) was tasked with creating a house that reflected "Diane's character, who is very successful, accomplished New York playwright in her mid-50s. She is also a divorcee, following a 20-year marriage, who built her Hamptons house as 'a gift to herself' - no compromises - just her total vision of a peaceful life."
it's amazing the detail that went into it - from the art on the wall, to the books in the bookshelves and reference books in the office for the character.
